I have been involved in the industry since 1993, initially through investing in property and managing my own portfolio.
In 1994, I formed a steering committee to work towards the foundation of the Property Investors Association in Southland which was launched a year later and on which I served as the founding president until 1998.
I was elected to the New Zealand Property Investors Federation in 1996 as a regional representative retiring in 2000 as National Vice President.
During my time on the Federation I was involved with the implementation of rent re-direction from WINZ and the release of names from WINZ to the Ministry of Justice for the purpose on enforcing Tenancy Tribunal Orders.
In 2000, I completed the National Certificate in Residential Property Management and became a full time Property Manager in 2005.
I also hold the Certificate in Management and Certificate in Small Business Management from the New Zealand Institute of Management.
